75% of UK mobile phones feature a camera
According to a survey by M:Metrics, the mobile market authority, over 50% of US mobile phone users now have a camera phone, representing a total of 106 million phones, while in the UK 75% of mobile phones have a camera.
The boom in camera phones has led to a fall in sales of mobile wallpaper and graphics, with consumers personalising their phones with photos taken on the device.
However camera phone technology has had a positive impact on overall operator data revenues, with consumers increasingly purchasing photo messaging bundles.
